We’re not going to lie to you; we are kind of obsessed with make-up transformations. The power of make-up is fascinating. We love watching these kinds of videos and we recently stumbled upon this epic gem.

Makeup artist Kandee Johnson had us mesmerized when she not only transformed herself into Barbie in less than 90 seconds (granted the videos are time-lapsed, but still!), but into our everyday girl crush, Ruby Rose as well.

We watched the video over and over again because the transformation is that cool.

With heavy contouring, green contacts and some seriously bad ass skills, Kandee begins to transform herself into the Orange is The New Black actress-paying attention to Ruby’s neck tattoo and her awesome hair cut too.

TBH, we’re not quite sure who donned June 26 the day of chocolate pudding but hey, we’re not complaining!

Our favourite little Prince hasn’t even turned two yet, and is already influencing the fashion world and has become a mini-style icon.

After pics of Kate and the little Prince, wearing navy blue Crocs, playing around at a charity polo match spread like a wildfire across the internet, Amazon UK reported a 1 500 percent rise in the sale of the shoes.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Prince George’s wardrobe choices have caused sales to skyrocket. The day Prince George was introduced to the world by his royal mom and dad, he was swaddled in a printed white Aden + Anais cloth, which sold out just days after the new family were snapped leaving the hospital.

It’s been dubbed “The Prince George effect” – much like his mom’s “The Kate Effect”, which has the dresses worn by the Duchess of Cambridge flying off their hangers hours after she is photographed.

We’re not thrilled about Crocs making a comeback, but it’s Prince George… the kid could wear literally anything and still look cute.

Thanks to Kim Kardashian, contouring is a major thing. There is A LOT of shading and highlighting that goes into sculpting and transforming your face by blending dark and light shades to shape your features.

Whether you’ve already mastered the art or you’re still watching all those YouTube vids to learn, put down your brush because there is a new beauty trend in town: strobing.

Strobing is, in actual fact, the exact opposite of contouring and promises to leave your skin glowing – minus the product build-up.

How do you strobe? We’re glad you asked. Strobing is a far more natural approach and relies on using highlighters and natural light to give you that illuminating “glow”.

All you need to do is apply your strobe cream (a highlighting cream will create the same effect) to the places where natural light hits your cheekbones, brows, nose and chin to define that area.

Contouring often results in a matte finish but strobing delivers a more shimmery and fresh-faced approach.

We recommend MAC’s Strobe cream (R130 for 30ml or R360 for 50ml) if you want to start playing around.

BEAUTY TIP: dap some strobe cream on your collar bones on nights out for a fun little shimmer and shine-it looks great in photos!

DID RUBY ROSE SECRETLY GET MARRIED?

On Monday night, the grape vine was bursting with rumours that Ruby Rose and fiancée, British fashion designer Phoebe Dahl, had secretly tied the knot. The rumour mill kicked into overdrive when Ruby had dinner with Karrueche Tran and Karrueche said she wouldnt make a move on self-confessed crush on Ruby as Ruby is “happily married.”

But Ruby – who has been engaged to Phoebe since last year March – announced this week that her and Phoebe have actually had to postpone their wedding due to her role on OITNB Season 3.

“We’re not in a hurry. We’re so happy being engaged and we’re so happy living and traveling together. And when we get time we will definitely, you know, take it to the next level,” she said in an interview this week.

Although Ruby is clearly spoken for, she has admitted a crush on one other woman: Taylor Swift. Yip! In a Twitter Q&A last week, Ruby admitted she has a crush on Taylor Swift when asked by a fan who her celeb crush is.

Taylor clearly wants to be BFFs too as she started following Ruby on Twitter a few days later.

GMAIL NOW HAS AN ‘UNDO SEND’ OPTION

Google has officially announced a tool for Gmail users to undo any ‘damage’ in their emails, up to 30 seconds after the email has been sent.

The ‘Undo Send’ tool will apply to all Gmail accounts as well as the Inbox by Gmail app. To activate this feature Gmail users need to adjust their settings first.

Not that we’re not thankful, but…could someone start working on that ‘undo send’ option for a text/Whatsapp too? We would be ever so grateful!

SELENA GOMEZ DOES THE MOST EPIC TAYLOR SWIFT IMPRESSION

JANET JACKSON MAKES HER COMEBACK

It’s been 14 years since Janet has had a top 10 single (it was 2001’s Someone to Call My Lover). But this week, Janet released her new single No Sleeep and it’s already climbed it’s way to number 14 on iTunes (and then dropped down 5 places to 19 later on). The new song has received mixed reviews from the public and music execs  alike. Our thoughts? A thumbs up – it’s got a great early 00s RnB sound and we like it.

SWEET VALLEY HIGH GETS A REMAKE

If she doesn’t know Sweet Valley High, she’s too young for you, bro.

A popular 90s TV series (and even more popular book series by the same name by Francine Pascal) Sweet Valley High seems to be making a comeback.

Twin sisters Brittany and Cynthia Daniel (now 39) who played Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield in the popular TV series (The Mary-Kate and Ashley of their day) have revealed to E! that they are in the works of developing a reboot of one of our fave shows (eek!).

“That series means so much to my sister and I and we want to bring that to our kids and the next generation,” Brittany told E!. “So it’s only natural for us to want to bring it back.”

We eagerly await the official green light for this project. In the meantime, we’ll still be petitioning for a Friends reunion.

THE HIGHEST PAID CELEB COUPLE IN THE WORLD IS…?

Hint: it’s not Jay Z and Beyonce.

Well, this is something we never saw coming. It seems Bey and Jay have been dethroned. The new King and Queen (of the world, basically) is…Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris. The new, number-one famous couple come in at a whopping worth of $146 million.

Jay and Bey have been bumped down to second place at $110.5 million. Damn.

The ranking comes from the Forbes celebrity 100, which looks at and lists the 100 most powerful highest paid celebs.

Taylor really doesn’t seem to be going out of style.

KRIS JENNER SPEAKS OUT ON CAITLYN JENNER’S VANITY FAIR COVER

After nearly a month of silence, Kris Jenner is finally voicing her opinion on Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair Cover.

The 59-year-old matriarch attended DailyMail’s Seriously Popular Party in Cannes last night with boyfriend Corey Gamble and opened up about how she feels: “I think it’s amazing. I think that someone following their dream is truly inspirational to a lot of people. You have to do what makes you happy.”

Whilst pattern clashing is not an entirely new dimension to fashion, it is definitely one that keeps re-emerging on the runway-and with good reason too. The marriage of formerly opposing patterns is the perfect combination of playfulness and chic.

There was a time when clashing prints wasn’t a thing, so now is the time to embrace your seperates in your fashionable playground, have fun and clash around!

When it comes to clashing your prints, here are 3 golden rules to abide by:

1. Thou shalt not over-clash

If you’re stepping into new territory here then start off with clashing a max of only 2 prints. Any more, and your outfit will start to look overwhelming and too busy versus visually appealing and well put together.

2. Thou shalt remember your colour wheel

The trick to successfully nailing this trend is to clash contrasting patterns with a complimentary colour pallette.

3.  Thou shalt keep it simple.

K.I.S.S-Keep It Simple, Silly. When you’re clashing your winter prints, make sure to keep the rest of your outfit pretty basic with a solid or neutral colours item, for example a blazer. Keep this rule in mind when it comes to your accessories (bags and shoes) as well.

4. Thou shalt let the print do all the talking

If you’re brave enough, why not try a print on print ensemble a la Gwen Stefani, aka the Queen of print on print? Keep in mind the KISS rule and you’re good to go!

We all know that one person who gravitates to social media to air their frustrations about something. Usually, these ‘aired frustrations’ tend to be extremely cringe-worthy, and has the twittersphere sitting with a bowl of popcorn watching the drama unfold.

On Sunday, 28 June 2015, Morgan Deane, 31, just did this-taking to twitter to air her frustrations about soon to be ex-husband, Proteas cricketer Graeme Smith. The couple are yet to battle it out in court and currently share custody of their two children.

After 4 years of marriage, the couple – who have two children together – announced their split in February this year.

In her Twitter rant, Irish Morgan Tweeted this accusation:

Deane then fired some more shots, calling out the ‘bullies’ for taking Graeme’s side:

In a statement released today (29 June 2015), Graeme now tells his side of the story:

“Over the past six months, I have remained largely silent on my relationship on my pending divorce from Morgan. I have been consistent in asking that privacy be respected, especially given that there are two young children involved.

Regrettably, Morgan has not, despite agreements with both sets of attorneys, applied the same courtesy. Intemperate social media postings, repeated untrue accusations, deliberate attempts to obfuscate the facts and to put me in the worst light possible through whatever means at her disposal, and interviews with selected media have persisted. Any attempts from anyone to call her on what she has said are met with accusations of bullying.

The latest series of postings on social media are in reaction to a detailed psychologist’s report – to which we both and our respective attorneys agreed – the recommendations of which were recently provided to us. Morgan appears not to like the contents of this report, or its recommendations.

I have tolerated the growing number of outrageous allegations she has posted on social media and provided to certain media in South Africa. I have been unpleasantly surprised that a number of media have chosen simply to repeat verbatim what she has said on social media without apparent consideration that firstly they may not be true and secondly, that they may be doing harm to our children.

While I have and will remain considered in my responses and will continue to refuse to disclose the true nature of what is currently transpiring, what I will not tolerate is any suggestion that I am not a good father. Morgan, and anyone close to the family, knows this to be palpably untrue and deeply offensive.

While many in the media may consider this to be a form of entertainment for their readers, I would like to assure the South African public that I consider this to be in supremely bad taste.  I have been both polite and respectful in my dealings with the media on this subject to date, but the persistent coverage on what Morgan posts on social media networks is simply not fair to my children or my family.

I would again ask that my privacy and that of my children be respected. Morgan must account for her own behaviour in breaking agreements, posting false information and attempting to sway public opinion. I will continue to focus on my children’s happiness and well-being. (sic)”

Social media success is embedded in the Kardashian-Jenner’s DNA, with Kim leading the klan.

Since her wedding to Kayne last year, Kim’s wedding photo has remained the number 1 most liked picture on Instagram. Until now. This weekend, Kim’s pic was dethroned by younger sister Kendall.

The one pic ruling all the likes? Kendall Jenner in a white lace dress lying on the floor with her hair in heart shapes.

Kim has long been threatened by Kendall’s rise to success. Will this be the tip of the iceberg for Kim? Will she try and “one up” Kendall?

ICYMI: Selena Gomez dropped her greatly anticipated (and super steamy) “Good for You” video featuring A$AP Rocky.

This is the first vid from her upcoming album, and in it Selena is seen on the ground in a plain white tee and then the shot moves to her seductively lying on the couch in a silky number. The steamy part really comes in, in the shower scene (see what we did there?) where Gomez appears nude.

This is a different kind of direction for the 22-year-old singer,which we love BTW! The girl is growing and so is her sound-we couldn’t expect her to stay with the Disney princess forever, could we? Selena is smoothly and successfully making her transition from Disney pop star to serious musician. We see her carrying a couple of Grammy’s in the near future at the rate she’s going.

#MyFabulousCPT sassy residents take the lead in the #MyFabulous Inspiration phase 

 Cape Town fashionistas love a challenge and have taken the lead in the Skip #MyFabulous campaign with close to 440 #MyFabulousCPT images posted.  Durban is a close second with over 380 #MyFabulousDBN posts but landlocked Jozi is lagging behind with only 258 #MyFabulousJHB posts.

Who would’ve thought it would come to this?

A competition between sea side cities…

#MyFabulous celebrates each city’s unique style.  Fashion Designers Sibu Msimang from Durban (@SibuMsimang), Rich Mnisi from Johannesburg (@Rich_Mnisi), and Jenevieve Lyonsfrom Cape Town (@Jenevieve_Lyons) are relying on the public to create virtual Instagram mood boards to inspire their respective city’s range.

 The campaign officially launched on 31 May 2015 with a series of weekly Instawalks in the participating cities and continues with @SkipSouthAfrica posting themed InstaChallenges for its followers on Instagram until the end of June.

In July, the designers go into production phase. They’ll be taking the photographs from Instagram and translating the images into garments.  On 13 August, each collection will be revealed to the public at the Skip Fashion Exchange event in Johannesburg.

·         At the end of the project in August, the designers will choose the most inspiring contributor from their city. The winner will receive their respective city’s limited edition collection tailored to fit them.

Taylor Swift has become known for her squad of high-profile-mostly female-BFF’s and it looks like she just added another member to her already prestigious  crew. After performing in London’s Hyde Park Saturday night, Swift casually hung out with actress and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, Emma Watson.

Taylor and Emma posed for a photo with a couple of Swift’s other friends, including models Karlie Kloss and Martha Hunt as well as singers Sydney Sierota and Lauren Aquilina.

We’re not surprised by the newly formed friendship-which we’re going to assume has reached besties level already-seeing as TayTay praised Emma’s speech about feminism, so really, it was only a matter of time.

#Squad Goals, right? #MustBeNice

Yesterday, Justin Bieber touched down in the land down under and people were freaking out. Bieber is attending the annual five-day Hillsong Conference (a Christian conference held by lead pastors Brian and Bobbie Houston of Hillsong Church) held at the Allphones Arena in Sydney this week.

A spokesperson for the church made a statement yesterday announcing that Justin will not be performing, saying, “People come from across the world to Sydney each year to attend Hillsong Conference. Justin is here – like tens of thousands of others – as a delegate who is seeking to build stronger foundations in his life.”

The spokesperson refrained from spilling any finer details, merely saying: “The purpose of the conference is to honour God, and our hope for all attending is that their lives are enriched.”

Justin attends Hillsong LA and has been spotted on various occasions with the church’s lead pastors Carl Lentz , Joel Houston (son of Hillsong Australia’s lead pastors Brian and Bobbie Houston) as well as his long time New Jersey-based pastor, Judah Smith, who is also very close friends with Joel Houston and Carl Lentz.

And further news is that Hailey Baldwin touched down in Aus not long after the Biebs, sparking more rumours of their relationship despite the fact that Hailey took to Twitter not too long ago to deny the rumours.
